Green Tea … the secret to being more kissable

We have all heard of the many health benefits of green tea, including weight loss, reduced risk of cancer, diabetes and heart issues but research has also shown that drinking green tea is also great for your oral health!

Streptococcus mutans is the primary harmful bacteria in your mouth. It causes plaque formation and is a leading contributor to cavities and tooth decay. Studies show that the catechins in green tea can inhibit the growth of streptococcus mutans. Furthermore green tea consumption is also associated with improved overall dental health and a lower risk of caries (cavities).

Multiple studies show that it can improve your gum health and reduce bad breath. A Japanese survey of almost 1,000 men found that those who drank green tea regularly had healthier gums than those who didn’t. A German study found similar positive results in people who were asked to chew candies containing green-tea extracts.

The bottom line is that green tea reduces the bacteria in your mouth leading to improvements in overall dental health, a lower risk of cavities, and reduced bad breath leaving your mouth utterly kissable!
